Digital Literacy

In todays’ technology driven age it is important that all students leave school equipped with the skills required to flourish in the workplace or further study with regards to computers and ICT.

In order to promote the skills IES Breckland is introducing a digital literacy qualification to all Year 11 students. The qualification is called the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) and is equivalent to a GCSE qualification if passed. The qualification requires students to learn skills relating to word processing, presentation software and spreadsheets. Student performance across each module is averaged to give a final grade as seen in the table below:

Students will be guided through the requirements of the tests and fully prepared before sitting each module. Further information about the course can be found at the BCS website.
